Beholding God

An Introductory Piece

Hey friends, welcome to my very first post.

I was not planning to write this one, but it came together as I was editing my Beholding God? page. It is a paraphrase and combination of several passages of scriptures about meditating on God. It captures very well what compelled me to start this blog in the first place. I wanted to share it with my readers as an introduction to the blog.

Beholding God

(Inspired by Psalm 145:5; Philippians 4:8; Psalm 63:5–6; Isaiah 26:3–4; Psalm 143:5–6; Psalm 19:14)

Splendor and Awe

Oh God, I will meditate on your glorious splendor

And on your wondrous works

You are the source of all that is True

All that is Just and Pure

All that is Lovely and Commendable

All that is Excellent and Honorable

Truly, no one else is worthy of praise

I will delight in you all my days

Satisfaction and Joy

When I meditate on You

My soul finds deep satisfaction

As with fat and rich food

And from my heart joy overflows

Stabilizing Peace

When I meditate on You

You keep my mind in perfect peace

Because You are Trustworthy

I will lean on you, my Rock Everlasting

Refuge

Oh God, I will meditate on You

In the day of trouble, in the day of sorrow

I will remember all that you have done

And stretch out my hands to you alone

Redeemer

Let the words that I write

And the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in your sight

As I am in Christ my Redeemer

Amen.
