What I Believe

I believe in the doctrines of the faith as explained in the scriptures and historically held by Christians.

The Bible

I believe that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Words of God. Therefore, they hold supreme and final authority for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. God preserved His Word throughout human history and today we are blessed to have a variety of translations faithful to the original text. The central message of the Bible is God’s redemption of mankind orchestrated throughout human history and culminated in Jesus Christ.

The Triune God

I believe in One God, eternally existing in three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. The God of the Old Testament is the same in the New Testament. He is the Creator of all things. To Him alone belong all the glory and adoration.

Jesus Christ

I believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, taught about the Kingdom of God, and performed miracles. He died on the cross and rose again according to God’s eternal plan. Through his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus atoned for the sins of those who believe in Him. He ascended into heaven where he is seated at the right hand of the Father, forever exalted as Lord above all.  One day he is coming back.

Mankind

I believe that God created men and women in His image. All people have dignity and value because all bear the image of God.

The Fall

I believe that God and mankind were in a perfect relationship until Adam and Eve (the first man and the first woman) fell into sin through Satan's temptation. As a result, all of mankind was separated from God, and subjected to destruction, decay, and death. Every human being is also guilty of personal sins against God. The only way to be reconciled to God is through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Gospel and Redemption Through Jesus Christ

I believe in the Gospel, the good news that God provided a way for mankind to be reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ. Those who put their trust in Jesus receive redemption, forgiveness, and everlasting life because Jesus paid the penalty for their sins on the cross. On that cross, Jesus died but he rose again victorious over death, sin and the devil. He has dominion over all. Those who believe in him, Jesus covers with his perfect righteousness and God treats as righteous. They become God's children and receive God's Holy Spirit, who gives them the power to live lives pleasing to God. There is no more condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ. Those who reject Him, reject the only way to God and remain under condemnation.
