3 Truths For Assurance of Salvation

Jesus’ Redemption is Eternal

"But when Christ appeared as a high priest … he entered once for all into the holy places … thus securing an eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God" (Hebrews  9:11-14).

Get this. Jesus single-handedly took away the sins of multitudes of people, a number that no one can count (Revelation 7:9). He did this once and for us all. More than that, his redemption does not have a shelf-life. It lasts into eternity. Jesus secured an eternal redemption.

The Eternal Son

How is this possible? Hebrews explains that Jesus offered Himself without blemish, through the eternal Spirit. Only an eternal High Priest could secure an eternal redemption, and only a blameless lamb of infinite worth could be a sufficient sacrifice to redeem people to the Living God. No one but Jesus could accomplish this.

Who Can Bring Any Charge Against Us?

The security of your salvation is rooted in Jesus. We come with nothing but our many sins, needs and a God-given desire to trust in Jesus. He is the one who takes it all and purifies us from the inside out by his mighty power. The same power that raised him from the dead lives in us who believe in him. So do not fear. Trust him and keep on trusting him. Go to him with every doubt, sin and fear. That is faith.

Who shall bring any charge against you? It's Christ Jesus, the one who holds the keys of life and death, who died in your place. He will surely welcome you into his eternal dwelling!
